Floyd Edge first adopted the Uncle Dudley handle as the dj for the Uncle Dudley Hour on Greenville station WESC in the late 1950’s. The name was modified to Don Dudley as Edge’s career in broadcasting, producing, songwriting, and performing progressed.
As Don Dudley, he jockeyed at several local stations, produced country, gospel, and pop records, and performed with the Tunetoppers and The Versatiles. As Floyd Edge he wrote tunes like “Dance To The Bop;” a big hit for Gene Vincent and The Blue Caps.
