Little is known of Sam Brooks, the second guitarist on Blind Willie Walker’s seminal recordings, Dupree Blues and South Carolina Rag. It is believed that he assisted the blind man as well as accompanying him musically, a common arrangement for blind performers of the period. He is also thought to be the uncle of Greenville blues guitarist, Roosevelt “Baby” Brooks.
