YE OLDE FIREPLACE

from 1960 to the 1980's, ye olde fireplace was a well-known stop for touring jazz bands, including the glenn miller orchestra, count basie, buddy rich, and charlie spivak, who moved to greenville in 1967 to become the bandleader at the fireplace for a little over 11 years. ye olde fireplace was one of the few places in greenville where people could dress up, eat dinner, and dance into the small hours, listening to big bands.
